The set opens on the ice itself. A lone hiker stands above a turquoise meltwater pool, roped hikers walk toward a broken icefall, and a line of four squeezes along the floor of a narrow blue crevasse.

Then it goes inside. The ice caves are visited only in the cold months, and these frames show why people drive across the country for them: a turquoise roof over a dark gravel floor, a ringed tunnel, a scalloped ceiling above running meltwater and a cave mouth lit green and gold.

After that comes the lagoon, where the ice ends in water. Icebergs drift under a sunset, a glacier tongue spills off the ice cap into a lake full of them, and small boats paddle between the bergs.

The set closes on top of the ice cap, where a line of snowmobiles crosses the flat white snowfield below the peaks.
